Common sense courtesy and be professional should be the norm as a professional driver.
misterG, G13Tomcat and Bob Dobalina Thank this. -
One would think....
At least in our sector, we don't have many of those that
leave milk jugs full of urine laying around.
Mike2633, misterG, Texas_hwy_287 and 2 others Thank this. -
That's right! We're civilized folks, we are! Now get out of our way, we have a whole bunch more stops and your entire truckload of schlock is holding us up! MOOVE IT!

Yeah, so I was getting poop faced drunk one night chatting with some friends about the good ol days in Iraq. Someone asked me if I would do it all over again and I was like f### yeah bro. I'd sign up tomorrow if they would let me.
Thought had me thinking so I looked up jobs for prior service members for the armed forces. The Air Force won't take me back unless I went SOF. But then checked with the army and they had a whole long list out. I was squinting as I went down the list. Lots of openings for 11B (infantry). I was a 2T1 (Vehicle Operator) in the Air Force... And sure enough there it was.. openings for E-3 - E-5 for 88M (Motorpool). They also accept sister service members that worked the direct counterpart job.
One phone call later I found myself inside their recruitment office. The SSgt that I talked to was puzzled. "We usually recruit kids out of HS or college guys. Says you are 34 with combat experience in Iraq. We really need 88 mikes, and we would love to throw you back in. But first I gotta ask... You survived one campaign and got out... Why the hell would you wanna come back?"
I gave him my lengthy answer and he was like "drop some weight and fill this 36 page application out", then we will talk some more. That is what I am doing. 6 lbs left to goMACK E-6, Big Don, misterG and 1 other person Thank this. -
Working on my letter of resignation. I wanted to print it out tonight so I can submit it in the AM. But my POS printer is holding my letter hostage until I buy new ink. Here is what I wrote.
misterG Thanks this. -
Don't you think you should get re-enlisted before turning in your resignation? Could be medically disqualified or who knows..Big Don Thanks this.

You're very kind, with that last paragraph. Given the tenor of many of your posts about them here, it definitely isn't deserved. Hats off to you for your service, by the way.

Yeah. I was expecting a resignation along the lines of "Eff you guys, I'm outta here!" No point in burning bridges though, I guess.
Big Don and Bob Dobalina Thank this. -
I think there are ways to respectfully resign while also bringing to light repeated use of racial slurs and other abusive behavior toward @road_runner .
I would think they'd be happy this is a resignation rather than a lawsuit. Or accusations sent to corporate about a senior driver who acts as a supervisor at their terminal, which would cause potentially dangerous tension if he continued to work there.
Bringing it to light while walking away wouldn't be burning bridges in my opinion. It may spark a needed change at that terminal.Gearjammin' Penguin Thanks this.
