Normally I just wouldn't believe it. However, there was a salesman at a Home Depot, that was a scum sucking dirt bag. He'd lead the customer to believe that we would bring appliances into their homes and put it where they wanted it.
The first few times I heard this, I didn't believe them. But I heard it too many times from too many different people. At least he didn't promise them that we'd do the install for them.

Nothing at all to complain about today. Went in to collect my assignment at dispatch, and found out one of the trainers was making his greenie build sets so I was already hooked. Sweet, PTI and out the gate. It was a meet and turn and my driver showed at the same time I did. Drop and swap, breaktime, then head back to the barn. 600 mi. in under 12 hours. That will probably be the best night I have for the next 2 years...
JPenn, Bob Dobalina, Mike2633 and 5 others Thank this. -
Most of our guys work through their unpaid lunches. I have to run illegal. I will work 12 hours then take my lunch. No way that I will let my company dock me 30 minutes a day off my check without me taking that break. -
Agreed
Right. And you just "happened to forget" to mention it when I hired on.Mike2633, misterG and road_runner Thank this. -
His name was Don Black. Had all kinds of tricks in his sleeves to keep the company moving and wait time to a minimum. Unfortunately he was worth way more than we were paying him. He ended up getting a great gig at ODFL. Kinda miss working for him.Gearjammin' Penguin and Mike2633 Thank this. -

Must be nice. We don't get the break.
But we also get paid for it on the routes that require the driver to take it.
Boss does her best to keep us under the 12 hr mark and inside the 100 mile radius. And no overtime here either.
Anyone that pays overtime in this industry is too far away to make it profitable for me to commute to, or if local. Pays so little up front that its not worth it to work for them either.
Its hell being caught in a catch 22 like that.Mike2633 Thanks this. -
I think there goal for us is 1400-1500 lbs per hour, what ever it is, I don't hit it and it doesn't even matter because they really don't care to much about it, we don't get paid any kind of hurry up and get done bonus, I'm 4th from the bottom as far as speed goes, but as far as accuracy and xata goes I'm closer to the top not at the top but closer to the top then bottom, plus (not to brag
) I'm a GFS Gold Club Member which means I'm one of the companies top performers
or was LOL
this year though I don't think I'll be earning a Gold Club ring haven't really gone out of town or done to much stuff other then, run my route everyday, well I did run a trailer to a store during a power outage.
However there haven't been that many opportunities, however in my mind I should be getting a Gold Club Ring again after I rescued that driver that Friday night in the winter when he got his truck stuck in the snow we can relive that here:
Friday Night Fiasco -
Ok Mike, somehow I missed that friday night fiasco story when it originally came out, don't they sell snow tires for cars in Ohio? I mean FFS, it does snow there.
Mike2633 Thanks this. -
oh, and can we not talk about snow for at least another 6 months????? bleeech
