Another snot load. Except the p/u time is friggin 9pm tonight , so I may get out by 10:30 if they aren't running behind like they were last time. I got to Shreveport at 8am this morning. I hate it when they dispatch like that because now I have to run vampire for a day/night and I lose a day of production. This wasn't even a 2000 mile week. It's a good thing I had a run left over from last week that I finished monday that will give me some more miles.

I got word they are turning the trucks up to 75 and putting elogs in my truck 'to test them out'
When my boss told me that, I sat there stunned. I asked why on earth would you be turning the trucks up. He replies so we can meet our deliveries better and attract drivers. I replied why don't you just dispatch runs your drivers can do legally and just pay your drivers more. Low wages, fast trucks are going to attract problem drivers where youre trying to build your fleet. These are going to be someone elses problem drivers, that you're going to inherit.
They still think SNI pays its drivers .38 CPM, for God's sake! They all but called me a liar when I told them what it is now. So now when I try to recruit, and am in turn, almost recruited lol, I take pictures of the cards, websites, pamphlets, ect and send them to him.
We met at an impasse. The owner of the company just sent every a message on how the company is doing and how horrible elogs are going to hurt us, in all our divisions, and his upcoming retirement. Lol, he's going to bail before they hit and leave the company to the kids (all in their 50's).
But It really made me finally realize that I need to get serious and start planning my future.

They've based their business for the past 30 years on loose leaf logs. That should be obvious where they're going to go lol.
As for the changes industry wide, one thing that struck last night and again today as I've sat here all day, are the guys that dont park for 10 hours. The guys that fly into the truckstop at midnight and are gone by 5am. Parking is all but impossible after 5pm (sometimes3pm) now. Can you imagine what it's going to be after the mandate?

Yeah since I opted out of the per diem my weekly averages have been 1500 per week pretty constantly. This is especially true when I stay out the 3 weeks straight. If I only stay out 10-12 days It seems to drop to around 1400 week average. Which is probably what I'm going back to running. The 3 weeks straight really wears me out good and not to mention I start getting cabin fever

All my stings were not bad except the one on top of my hand. It's still swollen up. It's 9:30 at nite and I'm outside with reciprocating saw cutting limbs off my trees in the yard haha. I bet my neighbors love me

They are sorta right on Schneider paying drivers 38cpm. A new cdl graduate with no experience and no military back ground starts at 41 cpm and some instances only 39 cpm. But they get 3 raises the first year and should be at like 45 cpm after 12 months. Yea I agree they should not raise speeds to attract more drivers but just raise pay and get a better type of person applying for the jobs. I would rather go slow at a higher pay rate than driving fast at slower but I'm sure aloe see it the other way. I just wish my truck did 67 mph. I think this is plenty fast enough for most places. At 63mph I'm in the way for all the 65mph trucks. It takes them so long to pass me I usually have to hit the brakes to let them come on by me. I don't really mind because at the end of day it's only a couple miles

Thanks. I've seen their trucks around. I'm in western Iowa, but I think they run over here too.

I'm looking for a flatbed gig. I have a line on one, hoping I get it, home every night, no tarp, some heavy haul. I should know more soon.

I agree turning up a truck 2-3 mph isnt going to do anything for your pay just going to make more turtle races. It seems to be a growing trend several of these companies have recently turned up their trucks thinking it'll attract drivers, If thats their thoughts I dont know
