Actually skateboard, the way most of us perceived you changed when you started implying everyone having any issue with the load board was a #######. This was in late March/early April just after the truck show. Had nothing to do with your mentor tag. You got that what? Last fall?

I got the ones that were 3/16ths wide. I don't remember the number they call that size.

pete, the round blades seem to work better for me, i cant remember the number but its a narrow one, i also install them spread apart just a bit at the top, if ya use a square to wide of a blade on trailer tires they may peel rubber, i will try and find the number i use and post it, i think its 3/16th round

    no, a
no actually it wasnt that at all, i never implied or said anyone was ( pound signs mean, evading the cuss filter i suppose. i did then as i did now, just simply said it was something to work thru, not the end of the world as we know it, and the solution was not name calling or accusations.

but instead remaining level headed , try to focus on workarounds, try to convey to people what the exact problems were etc.

just like the issue on monday, it was a huge inconvience for sure, but everyone was in the same boat. everyone dealt with the same issues, some thought of work arounds, some peoples coordinator updated them and some didnt. but in reality thats all it was a huge inconvience,

just like today, if someone had thought for a second , they would realize the payroll dept would up to their rear in alligators today, they worked very late last night and were back at today. at 8 am, there was no need to flood them with phone calls at least up to the point of the 8 working hour timeframe at least, what i posted was from the payroll dept, asking to refrain from calling.

i dont know what the truck show timeframe enters into this, i wasnt there. the timeframe was simply during new load board implementation. just as i said then, that time would pass, just as this one did.

i guess some dont remember or werent here when a construction crew cut the main lines going into building, losing phones and all, in fact i know most of the posters on this site were not here, or maybe the time they had a large outage and huge areas in several states lost internet access. we survived that just fine.

i havent called any names, havent used words that cant get the past filter, i havent accused anyone of being anything other than impatient. not all can say that. i have had much of that directed toward me.
there was a time on here spyder when you have done just as i have done, told people to calm down, look for solutions , and learn how to work things out.

but it seems now anyone who says hold on a minute, gather your thoughts, dont name call, try to figure out solutions to problems, learn the system well, be prepared in the back of your mind always for things to go haywire, seems to be in direct opposition to you.

you are the one who resorts to accusations of butt kissing etc, i honestly thought you were better than that. it has come as a surprise to me , frankly.

the group on here now with mercer is actually a very small number of contractors, and the thread quite honestly is but a shell of its former self.

fact is, i am the same straightforward, blunt answered person i always was, only one thing has changed in the entire time i have known you, and one thing only.

in fact i even talked to you about extensively during ups and you were also willing to do it, but i guess that changed. my thinking was you could really help guys from florida.

but fact is when its all said and done , nothing i have posted is wrong. monday was a inconvience, no one died or went broke over a few hours down. if someone couldnt book a load , they simply did it last night or today. if they didnt get paid yesterday that got paid today hopefully, i got mine at 458 pm on my card, and still managed to get it transferred. i was surprised, but i hadnt called anyone , or posted on anyfacebook page that it was killing me or anything.

i just waited and was patient , had a load already booked so i didnt worry for a few hours that i couldnt get the next one.

actually , thats absolutely all i posted, it may have been crossways with what some may thought or how some may have reacted, but not one bit of it was wrong , or a lie, or called annyone names, or made accusations of being up anyones behind. it was simply how i saw things and was the truth.

I agree with most everything you have said, with one exception, when you first came back you were being confrontational. I had asked, after some context clues, if you were you because you seemed different and was informed you were. Since then, you seem like your old self for the most part. You have your moments, but who doesn't? I believe most of that has to do with a few people who have rubbed you the wrong way before and you have gotten fed up with it as well as maybe a little residual discontent over the involuntary hiatus though, for the most part not a big deal. You just serm a little more touchy than before.

That being said, the forum regulars have changed a little and it does seem that while a few core members have remained, whining about stupid stuff has become more common than before. While I believe the IT dept is trying their best, the almost every Monday crash has become pretty annoying as well. Now, i typically stay booked out a week and if im not, it dang sure isn't Monday before I have my next load booked, so it hasn't affected me much, but I can see how it can aggravate those who aren't pre-planned.

As far as pay goes, we have gotten a little spoiled with the nearly immediate settlements to where any delay seems bad, but if anyone is truly needing that settlement that quick, you probably have far bigger problems with your business plan than a minor inconvenience of waiting a day to be paid.

honestly, i wasnt trying to be confrontational. maybe it was just the frustration at all the hubbub with the loadboard. on several occasions i encountered folks who were in truckstops going on about the loadboard, when i offered to help, turns out the guy had never even logged on. i have guys tell me that they are getting shafted, i offer to mediate, i take the guys story for the truth, turns out on a regular bassis the guy tells customers he will snatch there load off with a chain and thats the mild part. i have had tell me they are having trouble getting paid, turns out the problem is it took 4 hours instead of 2. i could go on and on. this section used to be entirely about helping people succeed here at mercer, helping learn the nuances of the system that some say doesnt exist. there is the basic system and the little nuances that some never see or simply say they dont exist. but they are there, i wonder how many know when booking ahead what time is used for your position or if they even realize when its easier to book loads ahead .
what i have actually posted is the difference between the glass half full and the glass half empty. but it seems this page seems like a facebook page anymore. it seems the entire word has transitioned into drama on facebook mentality. every bump in the road is a major crisis, instead of finding a workaround , it gets beat to death on the internet.

and the app may be down a lot on monday but the loadboard is consistent at least, yes there have for sure been growing pains since the new load board came in, it has caused some more problems than others for a whole variety of reasons.

i also never said i was never frustrated with it, but some of kept finding ways to deal identifying exact problems and reporting them to IT. it was frustrating no doubt , but name calling etc, ranting , etc. wasnt going to solve a thing. sometimes in life you just have to make the best of a bad situation.

i guess i base some of this on the differences in when i started here to now. when i started it was send in bills by trip pak mail envelopes, not every truckstop had them, it seemed pilots and j had them more consistently than others, but you had to unload , put everything in an trip pak envelope and find a trip pak box, hopefully before 5 o clock pickup, you put logs etc in those. when were able to scan if you used trip pak they would charge you back for it, believe it or not some guys had to be dragged kicking and screaming into the scanning world.

the app had some growing pains when it was rolled out also, some simply refused to ever use it , although it a requirement now , maybe not for paperwork but other uses. i find it very useful. so considered where i have come from since i got here a monday morning outage is a minor thing.

this past monday was a different animal. i am sure spyder saw the explanation posted on the m-town lounge page even.

just like here , i simply relay somewhat my coordinator relayed to me and folks jump my crap for semantics and it enters into a discussion of in and outs of internet protocols , etc. the exact message i received was " on my way to work from home, internet out at work". which is what most folks might say with a huge explanation of the hardware problem and replacement etc.

if you are less than 38 years old i was driving a truck before you were born, if you were are between 38 and 42 i was walking the east west german border with the 2d armored cav when you were born. i turned 60 first week of june, i have raised five kids to adulthood, i have grandkids, one of them born and weighed just over a pound a half, i had siblings die, i have had parents and grandparents die, i have seen a kid of mine fight his way way back from the abyss to have a sucessful career, i have a wife who at 57 has twisted fingers , fused wrists, knees drained every month, cant bend her elbows past a 45 degree angle. she has constant pain from rheumatoid arthritis, but she never complains, never wavers , never gives up.

so you will have to excuse me if i think some of this hoopla over minor problems in the scheme of things is a bit ridiculous. and that aint even mentioning this dang umbilical hernia i got. but i put on the elastic belt and load away. its all about perspective folks and reality. just bend over , pull the plow down a row, turn around and do another , over and over and over. one kid owns a concrete plant, i will pass out free cups of concrete for folks to drink and harden the heck up.

Minor annoyances that keep repeating add up to costing me thousands of dollars. But hey that's no reason to complain. Just be patient, it's a minor hiccup.
