    Please cite the regulation.

You won't find it, because being off duty for 10 hours is a 10 hour break. Doesn't matter where you are...home, a friend's house, a park bench, or since the regulations changed a few years back, even in the seat of a parked CMV. Log it off duty for 10 hours and you're legal to drive again.

Absolutely correct. However we should clarify one thing. If you are doing a split the 8 hours must be logged as sleeper berth.

Airborne and Bean Jr. Thank this.

The American health care system, wouldn't wish it on anybody. Good for you beating cancer though.

Anyway, I said anyone who had been working for a decent amount of time should have some money available. You responded with how you had no money after being off work for cancer treatment. That would exclude you from the group that had been working for a decent amount of time in a way.

After 40 years of steady work though I would assume you would have a good amount saved and wouldn't have to max out everything available and leave yourself penniless after time off for illness. I could go a few years with no income before I started to worry. It's not like they drained your bank accounts and made you max your credit cards to pay off your hospital debt. But, if you're still living payday to payday at your age then yes, you aren't smart with money.

I know people at retirement age who are still working due to not being responsible or planning ahead. To each their own but I wish people would at least take some responsibility for their situations rather than blaming everyone else.

There are people in my building who has to live on what is essentially 600 dollars a month under medicaid etc. They have medical bills in excess of 100K accumulated and frankly will never be repaid. Cancer survivors etc. Home health aids cost around 16 to 24 an hour that's 24/7 if you can get them.

You are required to drain your resources (Resources = assets and money, cash etc) to less than 2000 before you get mediaid as a elderly person. and only then you will probably be up to here in medical bills to require a charity to bring in daily food meals on wheels delivery (Basically frozen tv dinners...) so they can eat something. Someone else to deliver oxygen. And still more people to ... etc.

What part of their own money do they have left of that 600 dollar social security? Zip. Nothing. If it's bad enough they might have someone assigned to them as a fudicary to manage the money for them. In other words this elderly person will have to have hand out to SS and ask may I have 10 dollars? Is there even 10.00 to pull?

Never mind the credit cards, student loans and so on. This nation has been entering a sort of a third world status when it comes to requiring people to pay everything on nothing at all. I think there is a facility in Searcy called the Harding Place where very well off seniors get all the services waited on them hand and foot. Everyone else gets crammed into a tenemant, then assisted living, then group homes and finally warehoused in a hospital advanced care as the end of life approaches.

I can go on. But in this part of the USA, if you do not have your health, and with that, independance you have nothing. And we are cancer survivors ourselves. The bill was in the excess of 1.5 million all done when everything finally was finished. The VA took care of that for her the spouse then. Otherwise she would not have had the 10 good years with us. That winter when we were going into chemo, she stated to me that she is doing it to give us a little more time together in this life otherwise it will just allow the cancer to end her life and I would have gotten the payout on 300 to 600K insurance and be in a position to build a future on that.

We went into the chemo room to do battle. And consider ourseives very fortunate. We rather be happy together on two dollars in the bank rather than dead and a half million to fight over. That's not living.

Airborne and Mr Budeedee Thank this.
