I think I'll pass. The "shaffer" lady said I'd start at .41cpm but after ready this all I learned was heavy loads and northeast. Hell... that's all I'm doing now. I do like the benefit package but 62mph....wow.

Though I lived an hour from the Lenoir city terminal, I must have saw the New Kingstown, PA one 10 times more often. Now that is sad. -
I live in wv and the lady... Samantha I think...said I'd go there to New Kingston. Yes the pay is an increase from where I'm at now, and the insurance and such are good but man...that 62. Plus I'm fat. I thought I read somewhere on here about that sleep apnea stuff. I took that twice and came up negative both times. But it's like their drivers stay in the NE. I do go now but it's like maybe once a month.
TruckDuo Thanks this. -
So those were nice "doing some different" trips.
Most carriers have slow trucks these days. 62-65 is the norm it appears. Schneider and Prime are known to be even slower.
I did get health insurance for $100 a month that was $1000 deductible and good coverage.
Joined them with less and a year experience and earned $1150 to $1300 a week working a full week so I can't really bash them because a job is to make money and I did well there. Yeah there was cheap slow trucks and heavy Northeast but at least I got miles. -
Amen to that

Shaffer trucks are being bumped up to 65 for cruise, but staying 62 for pedal. Adjustments are being made as trucks get A or B service.
As an OTR driver, I'm all over the US, though my first month was mostly in the Northeast and Great Lakes areas. Currently in Idaho. Grabbing a drop and hook load tomorrow AM and headed to IL. -
Seems to me like it oughtta be the other way around. So you can slam your foot down and get around that truck that's .2 mph slower than your cruise.tucker Thanks this. -
