Keep the insurance out of it....
We took down a Verizon Fiber Optic line that was too low. Insurance denied the claim.
Verizon wanted to go to arbitration so the insurance looked into the cauldron and felt that arbitrators in similar situations have been favoring the utility companies lately so they countered with 1/2 of the damages.
The bill to restore the line was $10,000.00 and the Optic network down time was another $10,000.00 so our 'insurance mod' took the hit for another $10K that wasn't ours because the insurance decided to spend $10K VRS fighting the arbitrator and loosing $20K.....GRRRR -
You're never gonna get that 1 million safe driver miles sticker on the side of your truck if you keep snitching on yourself.
