About 3500 for just the bull gear. plus parts cost fot the dampener. Expect a solid three day job.

I got called(not by my coordinator) on a load 250 miles from where i empty paying 1.55 a mile with 8 ft tarps to a blackhole. Also weighed 46500 lbs and im 34k lbs empty. Meanwhile, i found a 5k lb load 35 miles away going to a great area for 1.91 a mile that i never got a call on.

My personal theory is some coordinators have been given way too many trucks. They simply are over worked and that causes them to miss good loads.

You would get even better if you didn't have that 2nd rear end. The gears inside both pumpkin are turning no matter if you engage the power divider or not. That creates friction. Any friction results in increased drag so more fuel burnt to travel the same speed/distance. Now how much fuel will it save? Way too many variables to give an exact number. But a best guess is better than .5 mpg on a tuck currently averaging 7 to 7.3. Lifting a free spinning trailer axle gives .5 so a drive should be more simply due to the gear case being removed from the equation.

Pete this is the answer. I promise you everything he just said is accurate. But i also want to add to it. That rv plug is designed for up to 30 amps(or it might be 20, college was a very long time ago so cut me some slack). That is why its a different plug than you are used to. The normal 2 prong and 3 prong household outlets would melt down if you tried to draw 30 amps off them leading to people dying in house fires. Now that being said, no rooftop ac unit ever built will draw that much juice. Buy a very good quality contractor grade 10 gauge extension cord and get the adapter. You will be fine. Just don't run too many things at once. Kick the ac off before firing up the microwave or coffee pot.

Note: you will not find a sufficient extension cord at walmart, and probably not home depot or lowes. They cater to weekend hobbyist. You are gonna need to go to a contractor supply store such as northern tool or granger. And be prepared to spend over a hundred bucks on a cord.

That won't work. It will lead to the other rear burning up due to extra stress on it. You are on the right track waiting till one rears goes, but get a solid single axle to pair with the lift axle.

You gotta remember that your highway specced otr truck probably only has 36k or 38k lb tandem axles. Cut that in half and what do you got? A light duty axle. For comparison, your trailer has 2 23k lb single axles.

Well, for a small bit a food for thought, the drive axle on my single screw is rated at 23k.
