The new Garmin is supposed to allow you to "drag" the route with your finger or stylus to follow how you want. Kinda like how you can do on Google Maps on a desktop and mouse click and drag.

May not work for everyone, but you can make manual changes to routing in Google Maps on a computer, and then send that exact route to your phone app via the "Send to Phone/Device". I'm not sure of any other GPS setups that work quite like that, but I'm all ears if someone else does. Copilot has limited functionality in this regard, it seems.

Microsoft Street & Trips does that but I don't think it is for sale any more. Might be an old disk somewhere available.

delorme did it also if you can find a older copy

You should be able to do this with any GPS.
With a Rand McNally you just need to have it calculate a route and them set via points to force it to go the route you want (Can I enter my own route into the device? - Rand McNally Support).
Other brands will have a similar feature.OLDSKOOLERnWV, Lepton1 and NavigatorWife Thank this. -

Garmin 770 and 570 both let you do it. I have both (1 primary, 1 secondary).
