I only swerve to warm my tires for higher cornering speeds.

Never swerve. I've run over a few cats passing through small towns and it's a bummer, but animals don't get what is going on. You can swerve and they'll panic and dart in the direction you swerved anyway.

I had a stupid deer do that when I was in my car. Dumn critter then skipped across my hood, knocked out a headlight, then took off.

Wow, pleasantly surprised by the responses.

Having read so many times 'NEVER swerve, NEVER leave your lane' I expected different responses.

I did the FULL swerve on the US 95 south of Kingman a few tears ago.

Came over this little rise, 3 doe standing in the middle of the highway. 2 in my lane, 1 in the oncoming. FULL swerve to try and go between them, and I guess the sound of fanning your brakes is the very best deer scatterer cause the one in oncoming bolted away to that side the one nearest my passenger door started moving to that side, and the other one a little further over from her, bolted as well.

You should try and avoid hitting the animal if at all possible but if it requires swerving I would unfortunately hit it which would be an unpreventable if you damaged your vehicle in the process.

You can get a road kill permit in some states,Just carry a grill with you for that tenderized meat, It is only good for the first few hours so set up a roadside stand of RK BBQ

I would never swerve, if anything smartly ease over as much as possible without flipping the unit over. But mostly just hold my lane true.

a good driver wont have to swerve or hit it countless times ive had wildlife run in front of the truck at night a good driver is able to stop within the range of his headlights and a good driver is constantly alert and looks out not just ahead of him but out his sides
