I've been subjected to name calling. But I never had it that bad. Holy crap. How did the lawsuit end up?

Before I started driving, I worked at a John Deere dealership, and one of my jobs was unloading the trucks that came in. Usually it was relatively easy, painless, and I got along good with all the regulars. What was really interesting was when Deere decided to ship front end loaders on pallets via whatever Ltl carrier (New England Motor Freight in our case). Them things were standing upright on pallets, which were usually broken. The bigger ones barely fit in the trailer, having maybe 4-6 inches clearance at the roof of the trailer, and usually weighed around 1500 pounds. Our loading dock was a tad bit higher than most pups. So if you weren't very careful on the forklift, you could very easily poke a hole on the roof of said trailer. And if the broken pallet collapsed, which happened often, then you had to lay the whole thing down inside the confines of the trailer, and drag it off. It was a total disaster. Hopefully Deere got smart and resumed shipping them on flatbeds...

Ah yes, the long heavy skid placed in the nose of a usually long box trailer for a stop that has no dock so they fork it off the trailer. Our dock tards do that #### to us all the ####ing time.

I used to have to take trailer axles to Pace trailers. Take about something that does NOT belong in a pup!
I really do wonder about 1) the sales people who dig up these accounts for LTL, and 2) the head poo-bahs at the manufacturing company who agree to have their product shipped, (and torn and busted all to hell,) by sending it LTL box truck, rather than the flat beds this kind of freight SHOULD be on.

Yeah, tell me about it! My company hauls for a big construction equipment dealership out west. Sometimes we have to pick up those water tank trailers- the ones with a couple hundred gallon tank with pump on a trailer with two axles-and try securing it in a dry box. Fun times.

That wouldn't work very well in a slick side if it's not nose loaded.

You are right MACK. It doesn't work very well. I never had a tank on wheels, but I've had so many sets of portable light trailers it is ridiculous. And we had slick sides and no floor hooks. All you could do is block it in with dunnage.

We loaded it in the nose of a 53' so the tow hook thing was not facing the front trailer wall. I did my best to secure it with what straps and rope I had but it still managed to move around during the drive to the terminal and wound up with a dented fender. Oh well. That crap is flatbed freight and I have a dry box trailer.

Bathroom finishings for a hotel. Let me tell you...

They're heavy. I was on a slight hill. No lift gate so the forklift had to set them in the truck, then I had to turn them around and line them up in Florida's humidheat.

All said and done, they(Decora something) didn't have the bills. What? No bills for a load? Its okay. Boss is meeting me on 95 to give them to me.

Now getting out of this place with a 26ft box truck is easier said than done. Narrow room, narrow alley, lots of expensive stuff lying around. I got out, after 5 pull ups and 3 Cubans making sure I didn't crush a boat or lowrider cat.
