Some would say the same about A/C and power steering.....

 

There is no real benefit to the hydraulic assist other than the bill when you have to replace, now as far as A/C and power steering that's a completely different deal

 

I wouldn't say no benefit..... When I was creeping through Atlanta the other week in stop and go traffic, I thought to myself I miss that soft clutch pedal in my old Cascadia. LOL.
But aren't hydraulic ones supposed to be self adjusting??? Or they adjust themselves as the clutch wears, so essentially the pedal is consistent throughout the life of the clutch.

 

Actually mine doesn't have mechanical linkage. It's set up just like a car clutch. Pedal hooks to the master cylinder which pushes fluid to the slave cylinder mounted on the transmission & that pushes on the clutch fork. Very smooth, very simple, & very nice.

 

Yep, they are much nicer in traffic & there is no adjustment.

 

But I'm sure @Zoocrew77 is correct, probably a lot more expensive to fix.

 

Everything is more expensive on newer trucks. But I don't expect it to go out. I'll have to check but I bet the master cylinder & slave cylinder aren't that expensive.

 

Anyone notice the lack of fema loads for us?

 

The oil samples show coolant in the oil. We pressure tested it for 8 hours.. it lost its hold at first. Found coolant filter had a leak. Replaced that it held for 5 hours... He was at a lost the only other choice is to pull the head and see if it looks good. But he said with such small amount I wouldn't.

 

Just curious, where do you get your oil samples done at?
