Being a lease operator/owner operator is appealing to me because of the many benefits of being a business owner. Plus the ability to expand the business. Maybe I can make the same money in a company truck, but that's only for one truck. If I own more than one truck, the sky is the limit. I don't want to be the one holding the steering wheel until I retire.

Now, that said, a job like the one you're talking about wouldn't be a bad way to pass the time in the first few years of getting my own experience. Where does a person get jobs such as these?

Give me some insight into "knowing how to run your clock", please. I feel like I do a pretty good job. If I have time, I run. I try to plan around rush-hour, try not to let the computer suck up half an hour of drive time as I'm moving around the lot, try to combine fuel stops with half hour breaks, etc. But I know I have a lot to learn. What else would you add?

No offense but have you ever been to a truck stop or shipper/receiver ? If I had kids they would be nowhere near these creatures . Just thinking about poop and piss in the parking lot, truck stop showers, random schedules messing up your sleep pattern

This isn't a dually and a 5th wheel camper going to Montana in the summer time. What do you do with them in Wyoming on I-80 in a few months ? Really willing to endanger them like that ?

I'm not trying to be rude or nasty but just telling the truth

Haha ......... Got me laughing thinking what the kids would say if they saw the driver in the video below.
The play by play commentary cracks me up every time I watch this.

One guy says he "nets 1500" the other says he has to put money aside for taxes and what not. I thought"net was after everything. Am I wrong or missing something?
