Looking to move to a different dryvan loadboard since mine got shut down. Do you still have the first on, first offered system? or is it now more in line with other companies which have a first-to-click webpage where you can book yourself a string of loads at one time? Thanks.

It's sort of a combination. It's first empty first offered, but once the load has ran the board through those who are already empty, it's up for grabs

OK so you can book yourself a string from the leftovers on the board, or if you have a destination where you don't like anything on the board, you can deliver and then shut down and wait for an offer?

Yep. Or you can go on vacation or go home or whatever.

Interesting. Puts a rather different spin on the whole scene. Take the quick cash or roll the dice looking for the big bucks. Seems to have an added fairness element too. Generally speaking, how much of your freight comes from the board as opposed to from offers? Are there any clusters of short loads to be found? Like over $3 per mile for under 100 miles type thing? And how far out can you book yourself? Thanks

I can't speak for the van side, but there are plenty of good paying short hauls on flat. You can book out as far as there is freight, just make sure you can cover it.

All loads come from the board. They basically gove each driver 8 minutes from to accept it. If driver 1 doesn't respond in 8 minutes, driver 2 has 8 minutes, then driver 3, etc. Once all empty trucks have had time respond and no one has taken it, then anyone who wants it can take it.

I'm rarely empty without a load, so with the exception of when I'm at home, I try to stay about 2 or 3 loads ahead on booking.

Interesting. Thanks for the info. So you're saying the freight available to everyone on the board is good enough that you basically never find yourself using the 8 minute window?

There are plenty of short van loads paying well. If you like running the NE you can do good on short hauls. 150-200 mile loads from PA to NJ paying $650-$800. Run one in & bounce out if need be.

As far as the 8 minute option, the only time that comes in to play is if you empty out & don't have another load booked. I myself rarely empty out without already having another load booked. I'm booked out till next Monday (only 2 loads though) at this time. I plan on having another load booked by Friday.

Speaking for myself I have used this 8 minute window more than once, like if your in an area with not a lot of freight like AZ or something like that... Or if all freight listed is just complete garbage a good one pops up the 8 minute deal will come into play...
