Afternoon guys, will try and keep this short, I have been driving for about 10 years now, mainly local day cab, with a dump trailer but also some low bed and flat bed here and there. The last 4 years I have been north east regional but the job started going to hell so I bought a 97 w9 about a year and a half ago (cash). I have been slowly restoring it and doing some local work here and there with it but mainly running a friends truck to stay busy. I had intentions of doing a day cab conversion on it but I have come to realize, Massachusetts sucks.

Anyways I'm not looking to get rich but can I atleast turn some decent money at mercer? The flatbed I own now is 48' but only 96 wide would that be an issue? Does they require lease drivers to do any cameras or govern a truck? I know they run elog from reading through the last few years of this thread which really doesn't bother me. Also how picky and often do you have to do their inspections? I have no problem throwing money at the truck especially for safety issues but I really don't want to get my balls busted over stuff like tinted windows and a drop visor like the wonderful state of MA has started doing. I have no family and am not married so I'm really not worried about home time but how often are most guys out? anyone can help me out or has any tips I'd appreciate it, thanks

our inspections are better then a level 1.. our guys are KEY on... 96 wide won't really be a big issue but some customers may say they only want a 102... No cams no govs

Yes it has an electronic n14 in it, the original owner I bought it from had a Qualcomm in it at one point

Thanks pete, it's an older trailer but will pass a DOT if I could get a few years out of it I would be happy

Those loads? Is it supposed to be a good load? I'm just using it to get from one good load to another.

You don't see them on the board because there are always trucks waiting in the NW and those loads will never make it past one of the trucks that are already empty there (taken in board order, of course).

You can usually drop your trailer at Shepherdsville 24 hours early then bobtail over to the Loves down the street. They will call you when it is unloaded. In my experience this normally happens overnight (eg drop at 3 PM on the day before appointment it will be unloaded by 6-8 AM the next morning).

    Good luck,

    Jim
