I had a moment...See above post. I was never trained for winter conditions, so I was perhaps too paranoid about braking as quickly as I normally do. I left loads (~1/4 mile @ 25-35mph) of following distance, but 2 things inevitably happen:
    1) More four wheelers cut in front of you to close the gap.
    2) 4 wheelers slow down much quicker

Both of these cause a caucophonous Onguard fiesta. It got a little old after a while.

Hahahshaa . Yes! Maybe I should put a few strips of duct tape over it so no one says anything when they take it to the dealer for maintenance?

Once had a car think he needed to be on my grill just long enough to knock me out of my cruise control, then he would speed up and get several hundred yards out on front of me... But pretty soon he was back on my grill and then pull away again... After about 40 miles of this crap, on a very empty, desolate stretch of I-84, I decided I was just going to pass him and be done with it... As soon as he was getting close I down shifted a hole and let my W900L roll coal into the hammer lane. In no time I was flying by him... So what this jack wagon do? He speeds up yet again and keeps pace with me right outside my passenger door! Ran me all the way up to 75 mph before I decided I'd better back out of it. So I tucked in behind him and let him listen to about 10 psi worth of aftermarket train horns. He sped up quick and stayed WAY out in front of my Bull Wagon for the next 200 miles until my exit. Looking back I probably should have handled it differently... But it still irritates me when people do crap like that.

My company truck has that lane departure warning system. It went on the fritz and was buzzing quite frequently. My fix was to disconnect the speakers for it.

So you are concerned about winter driving but you still had the cruise control setup in the snow?
The onguard system only triggers braking when the CC is in use. Sorry, poor temper and unsafe driving practices won't win any points here.

I respectfully suggest you slow down. If it's making too much noise you're too close.

If you get any closer in snowy conditions, and the truck decides to lock the brakes Up On You by itself you'll really be punching some dashboards.

Patience is the best solution not aggressiveness.
