So I hope this makes sense, but I think I may have figured out why the ComfortPros don't start in the cold...and I think it has to do with how long the glow plugs are actually given to warm up.
I was reading about people having problems with the RigMaster and how in the cold it wouldent start and it was due to the temp sensor being put in the cab instead of outdoors, so the system though the APU was warmer than it was and didn't pre-heat the plugs enough.
So...it was about 32 outside yesterday and usually that means the APU will go through at least one crank limit cycle before starting. Instead I just turned on the apu for about 10-12 seconds, and right before it started to crank, turned it off again, then back on...10-12 seconds...and did this about 5 times. So it gave the glowplugs a minute of pre-heat.
It started on the first crank attempt.
So...I mean...your mileage may vary but at least you're not just cranking cranking cranking...CannonballAA, MachoCyclone and kanidana Thank this. -
Okay so I called the number about the new detention policy and I'm going to have to listen to it again because he said that they're tightening the windows which I think I've already experienced a Tyson pick up it only had a 2-hour window. But he said it was going to paid detention four hours from the front of the window?
Like if the pickup time is from 3:03 a.m. to 5:03 a.m. and I arrive at 3:03 but the load is not ready until 8:03 would that be one hour of detention time since it was 5 hours of waiting or would I still have to wait until after 9:03 a.m.... -
That seems to be how it was explained. Funny part is he said we were to get 15 an hour for det pay before but mine always average out to about 13. Odd
