Yeah for some reason Holbrook pricing is less than Winslow. It's my last fuel up before entering California.

I watch stolen valor video a lot also. Sometimes the guys go a little over the top, but that's understandable. Especially the war veterans.

I attended a veterans day parade in my hometown once and wore my Marine Corps uniform for the first time in years. I managed to squeeze into one of my long sleeve khaki shirts and bought trousers and a cover at a surplus store. I got a haircut for the occasion and wore the three ribbons I earned and rifle and pistol expert badges. I got grilled and video taped by a couple of young guys who asked me the stock questions "What was your mos, what units were you with, what was your range scores etc. I fired back all the right answers and they apologized for bothering me and thanked me for serving. I replied No bother and thanked them as well, shook hands and said Semper Fidelis.

That was a HUGE help. That's the cheapest fuel for hundreds of miles. It saved my profit margin. The only problem with the place when I went there was that two of the islands were not functional, one completely, and the other had one of the fuel pumps down. If it ever gets busy that place would be a nightmare of a wait in its current state. I got there at about 3 am so there was only one guy in line for the only functional pump, so it went smoothly.

    Thanks again.

It hardly ever gets REALLY busy. In fact I've never had to wait. then again all the pumps were working...hopefully they get those fixed.

Check your receipt to verify what you paid ... the posted price on their signs is for auto diesel. Truck diesel is more expensive.

Yeah in Winslow, but in Holbrook sign price is paid price. I'm looking at my history now. 2.599 on sign 2.599 on EFS. That was 10/31. Not sure why Holbrook does it different....

Yeah I always watch the pump numbers as it's filling. It definitely reflected the posted price of 2.59. I was able to fill up both my def tank and fuel tanks for about 320. I expected to be paying 400 plus for the same amount of fuel. This takes me into fort worth with 400 plus profit after fixed expenses. Not too shabby and a big huge difference above what I expected to make.

What I don't understand is how these places can operate so cheaply compared to their competition. All the fuel along this route was 3 plus, and these guys are at least 40 cents cheaper. Either somebody is majorly upping their fuel prices for profit, or these guys are operating at cost plus a little and relying on volume? No idea, just happy to have found a place.

I'm from Phoenix and I found the cheapest place, that I know of, is this place on 51st ave and Buckeye. It's not far off of i10. It doesn't have def, and it also only has 3 pumps, but it's always at least 30 cents cheaper than anything off of i10 in the phx area.

Thanks for the kind words Terry. We've tried to develop a platform that takes away a lot of the administrative headaches & costs that can come along with being an owner operator. That said. each driver has to decide what is best for their individual circumstances & align with the company that provides the best fit. We're just really excited about what's currently happening in the market. In our sector the shippers have had a very prolonged period of adequate capacity that has allowed them to move freight at flat to downward freight rates while at the same time pushing costs to the carriers & drivers (detention). This is already changing in the carrier's favor & if the EOBR mandate gets properly ENFORCED, we're looking at an entirely new market. Basically, it could give the reliable EOBR compliant carriers significant pricing leverage. Obviously, we'll have to see what the future holds but the hope is that it leads to continuing increases in driver compensation & better working conditions. May even get you back over here Terry :) !!
