Honestly ELD should not affect any truck driver at all. Well, unless they were never running according to Hoyle to begin with.

Scottie- lol stop it- Its NOT about us running legal or not- Most of us are too old to run illegal.

Its the FORCING of someone to use Electronics- You Cant Force people to use electronics in their lives if they choose not too

On Top of that _ I Don't Like Electronic devices Cluttering up my Dash area and Windshield- takes away the Ambiance of my Interior AND Adds Stress with all that crap and Wires everywhere.

Thirdly- Forcing Me To Plug something into my ECM- That's my ECM.... Not theirs........

I Guess in a nutshell- I Feel Like someone is Coming into my Home,Without my permission..........And That's How many of you should feel..........But, its "Yes Master,Whatever you want master FMCSA"

    ....................

First you say you are too old to run illegal, then you imply you will need to change how you run. Which is, are you running legal or not? Methinks I know the answer, no matter what you say.
Personally all your complaints remind me of my 11 year old when she doesn't get her way. Comes up with every excuse under the sun why we are tyrannical parents for making her do her homework...

    I really shouldn't reply to you,but I will/.
When I say 'change" my operation..It means I no Longer Run to my regular customers now which is over 100 miles.

I'll be satisfied with a local operation while I Watch you guys run the Road and Sleep in the truck and get Rich,I Know you can do it.

That's What I Mewan By Changing..Any other questions young man?

I know tens of O/O operators that will not run on 12/18. I will not run. I don't know about you guys, but it will be nice if 100s of thousands of O/O stop just for that day, so the industry will see how much we are need it.

In the union world there is a tactic that is called "Work to Rule". It is a way of punishing a company that suddenly decides to enforce a provision of policy or contract that it hadn't before. The result is usually a reduction in efficiency or output. What the employees do is strictly follow the contract provisions (or company policies), no matter how stupid or counterproductive. Shortly thereafter a meeting is usually had between the parties and the real issue is addressed.

Where those of you who are annoyed by the ELD mandate are missing the boat is that the government per se doesn't give a rat's ### about whether the efficiency of the system suffers. Each and every trucking company and retail business in the country could shut down and they will still have a job, at least for a while. They are just following orders and you are just collateral damage to stupid policy.

Herein is your lesson for the day as to why that government that governs least is the best government. That Jefferson guy sure was smart.

Nothing much is going to change.
There won't be thousands of OOs that will stop running a week from now.
Oh and if by chance y'all do stop running on the 18th. 1 or 2 days isn't even going to cut it. .

Everything will keep going just like it always does.
