18 oz 8 ft tarps? Holy crap those are heavy. And very stiff in winter. No thanks .

 

What happened at Mercertown drivers lounge? All hard chairs now... The cloth chairs was all taken out cause the lounge was infested with bed bugs? Wow. Don't matter what company your with you can't get away from slobs in this industry. What a shame...

 

Oh hell i didnt know that was the reason. Glad im not there much. Our kids brought bed bugs home from a friends house when they were little. It was hell gettin rid of em.

 

Ya I pass by frequently but don't stop much. The couple times I did the showers was trashed with drivers junk left all over the place, toilet had #### all over... You'd think being all owner ops you would have a little more class...

 

Back up several years (many years): When you stopped off at the yard, the kitchen and bath room was almost as clean as home. Just one, of many, of the by products, of lower hiring standards.

 

Old Mercer story, this probably happened 25 years ago. I was at the yard getting an inspection. Can't remember for sure what he found, something simple like a brake can

The inspector says to me: just jump in my pick up (his personal pick up) and run over to peterbilt and get one. That's how laid back the whole organization was back then.

That inspector that let me use his pick up, is still at Mercer, but he is higher up the food chain and still a great guy.

 

Man I am shocked to hear all of this. When I was there in January I was quite impressed with what I saw and experienced. Everywhere I went was clean and in place.

 

Last time I was there, wasn't a sq. ft. of green grass that didn't have a "doggy bomb" on it.

 

Yep. They built the pet area but only half of drivers with pets use it.
