I am right there with you on this. I have NEVER had the desire to alter my perception of life by a temporary high from any type of drug, natural or chemical. Hell, I am 51 and have never been high, drunk or even buzzed, and have 0 desire to be that way. My dad, and both grandfathers were alcoholics and I watched my brother destroy his marriage and his life with drugs and alcohol, and die a horrific slow death after destroying his body with that b.s. There is no room for stoner burnouts in this industry...OP, please, stay as far away from trucking as possible. We have a bad enough image from the general public because of the CDL mills pushing people thru their CDL schools that don't have the skills to drive a 4-wheeler, but get behind the wheel of an 80k lb truck, then drive like morons....we don't need any more people out here making that image worse.

    I am an angel.
Don’t do drugs, don’t speed, don’t swear. You must not be working hard enough. After I do a 14 hour day I don’t have time for recreation other than checking this site before bed.

    Such a long life too.

Just because he can't do whatever he wants the laws are unfair. I say let him do it, I am always looking for a deal on a used truck and trailer.

Hey op? Have you ever considered that the smoking you are doing now is the reason your business is failing? You know, poor judgement, spending money on drugs instead of the business?

    College educated :biggrin_25523::biggrin_25523::biggrin_25523::laughing-guffaw::laughing-guffaw::laughing-guffaw:

There are plenty of idiots that are "college educated"

I have no doubt that it hindered me in some ways in life, while helping me in others. I think the business is doing as well as it could in the location in which it resides.

I discovered weed at a time in my life where I was really depressed and hated my life. I’ve always had problems with depression and anger, so it has helped me with that part of life.

Anyway, I’ll discover what it’s like to be without it and I won’t smoke as long as I drive. Maybe it will serve me well to quit for a few years.

Got a pretty good question for everyone....

While I DO NOT advocate doing ANY drugs while having A CDL.....Lets talk Alcohol.

I get the Gist of what the OP is saying.....Its hard for him to get through life without the altering of perception with certain occupations stress levels

    What about Booze?

1 out of 5 people are DEPENDENT on alcohol daily or weekly- YES 1 out of 5 people according to statistics

Why? what if we stopped making alcoholic beverages altogether? Same with Cigarettes?

You'd have people in complete Chaos.... Prohibition of the 21st century...........

Point Im making, Millions and Millions of people RELY on alcohol or drugs to Comfort them,Because they don't have the Strength to get through life- let me repeat that, THEY DONT HAVE THE STRENGTH TO GET THROUGH LIFE...

I Personally never relied on drugs or alcohol............But as the OP has stated here, He is Weak, And NEEDS the Comfort of some form of soothing drug to ease his pain.

Just like these 35 to 60 year old Pill Poppers to Ease the Pain- I See so many people that would rather medicate them selves with those fat White Pills (Cant remember the name of them) Than FIGHT the pain and Workout and Sweat. Too Easy to take Drugs

the OP is weak Minded, and so are millions of other Americans

As with all habits, they are started to mask a problem, be it pain, no sleep, dealing with reality. But the problem is still there. Deal with what is the problem instead of hiding it because when it surfaces during masking it is going to be huge. They have cracked down on the drinking and driving so that has slowed down or those that did it are gone from death and disease. With what they have done with pot since making it legal in some states you do not want to touch that junk, it is designed to hook you. It is not like the weed of last century where you could roll one and enjoy it, heck now you have to use one hitters because it will knock you on your butt with that. If you feel like it should be legal like booze get with your representive in government who does it like they do and change the laws, but the insurance industry will be the ones you need to go after then. Just be natural, no drugs or booze so if you are just a little off, say that's normal, live with it.

There is much motivation to alter your mind/feelings because of what we intake. The food in the grocery stores is awful. You're eating toxins. They flat out cannot clean any of the pesticides off Broccoli. Others don't come clean. Genetically Modified Food is not good either. They shoot up cattle with drugs to force them to gain weight before slaughter. Let a piece of meat sit in your refrigerator for just a few days. It takes on a multicolor shine to it. I say that is the drugs. .... Sidestep them. You'll find meat that doesn't do that. Tyson has made chicken farming so efficient. The chickens are coming out with all kinds of genetic defects. You want to eat that? Many public water supplies have flouride and other chemicals that are not good for you. It's awful.... Then you get high to comfort yourself. Of course you do. You actually feel awful.
If you ever get the money. Try buying food from Farmers Markets or Health Food Stores. They both specialize in non GMO, no drugs, no pesticides. It's expensive to raise stuff that way. It makes a huge difference. Believe me... I know from personal experience....
Also straighten out vitamins and minerals. I didn't know about minerals for a long time. Took them for granted. Makes a huge difference. Bigger than huge. You can start by filtering water. Add iodine to knock out the flouride. Add sea salt...loaded with minerals. Drink two quarts of that a day. Then you can go to other important things like Magnesium.... lack of being a bad problem in us.... and other minerals.
You'll find there is a reason why people want to medicate themselves and feel better. They're killing themselves with toxins.
Also to add.... as of 2014. There were 70 million americans on legal, prescribed, mind altering drugs. Think about it.... long and hard.
