AOBRD will not trip over to drive line until the BOT parameters are met. Usually it is about a mile and half. So yes, you can creep around under 15 miles per hour either Off Duty or Sleeper. A lot of drivers do this at customers for example, arrive 5 hours early for appointment and park out front on street. Roll into customer Sleeper or Off Duty and check in then get assigned dock and get (un)loaded. Roll back out to the street Off Duty or Sleeper and finish the "10" then log On Duty to complete Loaded/Empty Call and receive next dispatch.
ELD will not allow these creep around stuff. As soon as the wheels roll, the ELD trips over to Drive line.
Drivers currently with AOBRD will continue to Creep around til December 18, 2019 but ELD'ers will not be able to Creep around at all beginning December 18,2017
Off Duty Driving is illegal while "Laden" which could be interpreted for our purposes as "Loaded" or "Dispatched" even though the trailer might be empty the "intent" is that the driver is dispatched then therefore going to be laden so that would fall under "advancing toward your next load". Generally drivers get away with this all day long but an audit back at your company headquarters within 6 months of the falsification of the logs could cost you and your company thousands of dollars.

I just think getting on a public website asking how to get around or skirt the system is an asinine idea.

I haul automotive freight, critical, we get a load we go. If the plant shuts down, that is exponential in costs... Hundreds of thousands of dollars or more in some cases. Things are ramping up here in Detroit as more plants are finishing up there retooling... We run round the clock and have an excellent safety record, GM carrier of the year to boot. I am already trying to figure out where to put the on off switch for the ELD they will install in my truck NEXT YEAR. Yes, next year. The Big 3 are not ready in the least for all of this, and neither are our Michigan State Police... Everything is a mess, and there is little if any relief in sight. You think your cars cost a lot now, just wait! LOL!Hopefully, I'm getting a raise! Rates are already going up, hitting $6 a mile this week +... Just saying. I'm exaggerating, it was $5 and change. LOL!
