Already tried that there. At the time the trucks were complete crap. The 3 different trainers I had told me to do things differently.
    Not a good experience.

Plus I live up near Salisbury and the hike is quite far.

    Thanks for the input

MA has agreements with a few states who meet their standards so someone can test out and if they pass, the results are sent to a very specific dept of the state police and then you get a paper that lets you get your cdl from the RMV.

Here in MA you have to pass 5 back up maneuvers. Failure rate is high here.

Sounds like the problem is the state you choose to live in. The decision as I see it is you have to decide which is more important, a trucking career or a Massachusetts residential address. You obviously cannot fathom not having that address for 2 years so you will have to give up on trucking and find a line of work that will allow you to keep your chosen state of residence.

I have to admit I'm intrigued as to why you will not have any other address. If it's for legal reasons such as forfeiture of state financial benefits or the loss of child custody or visitation rights then that is certainly understandable.

    I’m well aware....

    49 CFR 383.79

Unfortunately, Mass likely won’t feel the need to comply with that, either.

Is it really that difficult to just not change the license over to MA for two years? I don’t know if any restrictions of not doing so, besides maybe college/welfare reasons. I plan on just having my address/license in Virginia since I won’t be renting anymore and that’s my brothers address.

Cfi is owned by the same folks running transport America.

540? You are going to be a basic able to pass a CDL test by 200 hours.

    11K is too #### much.

Hell, I figured my hours I probably got about 40 in road and another 40 class back in the 80's and that was about 2500 dollars then.

Then you are all set then. I don't really have another option. Slight possibility of being out of Cheyenne though.

MA and i think Illinois are the worst.
