I'm with the OP. A man (or woman) should NOT be expected to stay fresh and rested in the cold. Why, just the other morning I called my DM and said:
"You need to get this delivery rescheduled. No way I'm getting out of my truck in this 25 degree weather. It ain't even warm enough to go in and get my coffee yet."

If they withheld from your check, that's considered an illegal deduction. You can file a wage claim with Wisconsin's labor board. I've had to do this twice, and I'm 2-0. Outfits believe they can simply withhold anything they choose if you quit 'em or get fired and there's nothing you can do. Wrong. Contact the Wisconsin labor board and/or the Wisconsin attorney general's office and then file a wage claim. Illegal deductions are....illegal.
