I have 2 years experience driving doubles. I have no tickets or accidents, in the last 10 years. I got in an accident inside of our yard that did just cosmetic damage to my tractor. No injuries. I was dismissed from the company, a big company for 36 months. Do I have any kind of a shot at getting another good trucking job with a big company?
Deal breaker? Small Preventable in the yard, they fired me.

I would think so, they are all screaming for bodies to put in their seats. How much damage was done?
Oldironfan and Need4Speed Thank this. -
You sure that's just it? I doubt a company will fire you just for very small cosmetic damage. There has to be more to it like not reporting the damage.

If this is ODFL, it doesn’t surprise me.
A non preventable incident in a company yard shouldn’t preclude you from another company, given some transparency regarding the ensuing DAC scar.
Be a bit more careful!baha Thanks this. -

Don't beat yourself up. Everyone has a bad day. If possible get a spotter in those tight situations. One door closes & another one opens.

You're not perfect? Better go work for McDonald's.
You should be fine dude. We all screw up on occasion. Something will materialize, it is an honest mistake, I bet you find another good gig. Don't get too far down over it. It's their loss for losing a driver who had a minor hiccup and never screwed up where it really counts- out on the road! -
Where is your location?
Probably get another LTL or linehaul job. Your MVR should still be clean since the wreck happened on the yard.
