Wal-Mart, Kroger Get Tough on Food Suppliers
Of course not one word in that article about these places wanting things exactly on time taking 4 plus hours to unload you which impacts you getting on time to your next delivery......

Sounds like kroger and Wal-Mart both acting like bullies...they won't admit that a lot of it is their own doing and would rather screw the pooch...i say rhw big suppliers sto shipping to both of those co's...see how long before they come crying back...

 

Nothing like sending a Mac41 letting them know you are a day and half ahead of schedule, then finding out from night dispatch that someone wanted me to do a swap yesterday, but I never received a phone call or QC message about. Apparently it was sent in their computers, but for some reason, never made it to my truck. So, I'm like #### it; I'm parking right now. This is why all swaps should be followed up with a phone call. I know it wasn't my DM because she always calls me about swaps.

 

That was a huge pet peeve of mine. That and when I was sitting for a day at the receiver and I had sent a 41 every day for 3 days.

 

I decided I'm just to take this extra to catch up on my farming simulator. Gotta keep those animals feed and crops growing.

 

LOL I love using my hot water boiler to make soup...the APU is all "Oh this is fine...WHAT THE HELLLLLLLLL NNNNNNNNNNNGHHHHHH!"

 

No idea why, they hit us up on every possible swap along our route,(team). Most make sense but others are unreal. They got us to split up to recover a truck and loaded trlr in El Paso to Tolleson, Az.. As soon as I took possession of recovered trk and loaded trlr they were offering both of us a repower in Demming, Nm to Tempe, Az at 0600 following morning. I could’ve taken it as long as I could’ve shut down at receiver and crawl into dock at 0600, not quite legally. Wifey would’ve had to done a swap in middle of night with some stranger,(never gonna happen!). They really think us teams just drive 24/7 but rarely break 6000 miles in a week.
