I still use the CB.

Looks like a NASCAR race at Martinsville Speedway!
D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -
Winter always brings a lot of accidents that could have easily been prevented.Motorists sees patches of cement and thinks its clear to drive normal speed.
Lepton1 Thanks this. -
What amazes me are videos of multi vehicle pile ups in winter, shot by folks stopped on the opposite side. While I understand their wanting to stop and help, wouldn't it be better to drive a mile up the road to get out and warn drivers they need to slow it down? Throw out some flares, do something to prevent further carnage. YouTube can wait.

Maybe a bit off topic, but lately I have noticed that it seemed nobody used cruise control any more, seemed like I was continuously around cars that were speeding up or slowing down, then I was driving a new rental the other day that had a Collision Avoidance System on it, now I know what was happening.
I now see where the CAS are going to be causing some unintended consequences, people running up on other cars (because that is what they do) and the CAS slowing them down, it takes them a while to realize it, then they dart out from behind the other car and since there cruise is set appreciably higher than what they were slowed to the car takes off at near full throttle.
Maybe "they" don't hit anyone because of the CAS, but I can sure as hell see them getting plowed into. -
This one happened before I got there. We see stupid driving all day long once something like this happens it changes from stupid to tragic and terrible. Drive safely my friends, speed limits following distances.

All that will happen is a few more in the pile up that are now distracted wondering why there is a fool along the road waving his arms in a snow storm.
