Mountains in the east are not as tall, but more steep. Out west they are the opposite.

Agreed... gotta respect any hill especially in bad weather. I grew up in Colorado so I’m kind of biased on mountains.

Don’t be intimidated. Take your time and don’t worry about the other guys. No such thing as too slow. I’m sure your trainer will do a good job teaching you. Are you driving a manual or an automatic? I personally like manuals better in the hills and automatics in the cities.

You are right. It only takes 1 mistake to mess everything up. Safety is job number 1

I'll be in a manual after training. Everything is going solid so far. We're doing backing in the back since we have all day to kill. Hes running me through the mill.

I happened to see you guys pull away from the shop and head towards the back. I was the fat yet sexy guy at the fuel island.

I'm in Grand Forks picking up at Henningsen headed to New Braunfels TX. I'm the only truck here and they put me right in a door. I'm like, "wow that's a pleasant change". Of course that was over an hour ago and they haven't started loading me yet so I guess they don't want to spoil me.

Ray Strack, Zata40 and carramrod32 Thank this.

I frickin love working here. The week I took off set me back on miles. I always shoot for the 11,500 monthly average, or whatever the top tier is...it’s 11,500 right now. But right off the bat after home time I get OH to OR and now I get WA to IN. Back to back tight loads with great mileage. Helps out a ton.

On a different note... got a message from the shop. He was like (paraphrasing) “I noticed your batteries haven’t been replaced since we’ve owned the truck. How is it treating you? Can you stop by Fargo or Coon Rapids any time soon?” Of course I know I’m over on my maintenance and was kind of expecting someone to call. But he could have been a dick and said “you need to get maintenance now, driver!” Of course It’s also possible he overlooked the maintenance and he really is only concerned with my batteries, but who cares. Lol The little things matter...
