Schneider is not currently hiring in-experienced drivers. They do have a training school up in Green Bay that is running, but for the most part...I think all they are looking for now is Experienced drivers.
I myself am home daily with two days off a week because Im on a dedicated account. Schneider has quite a bit of them and each account is different as far as miles, how you get paid, home time...etc. My account is just set up where I get paid weekly, Im home daily, two days off a week.
Also...because of that, home daily, short miles...two days off...etc, Im not paid as much as a regular OTR driver.
If you are an over the road driver...you are not going to be home 2 days a week. They do have a program called Homerun which allows 3 people to share 2 tractors...and you are out for two weeks at a time...one week home. But there, you don't make as much as a regular full time OTR driver.
Im a company driver. I dont think my account has owner ops.Baack Thanks this. -
Hlaird,
Never once were you called any names in my post to you. It was my opinion in what you stated. This time I will leave it alone. Next time I won't be so nice.

High turn over a shortage of drivers and the ones to blame are the trucking companies. The still have this notion that professional and experence drivers grows on trees but such is not the case. I learned a long time ago that if you want a change talked to other drivers about the company they work for or better yet use web information such as The Truckers Report.
Ask other drivers from companies are they happy with the carrier, how long have they been working with them and is the pay good? Sure you are going to hear some grips but an experence knows how to see through this. Never talk to the company, they will tell you almost anything you want to hear. I once talk to a company and was told that per. mile pay started a .29 per mile for new company drivers. I told them that after 28 years of accident and violation free experence that I don't consider myself a new driver! Company driver or not that they pay was too low and hire someone out of the trucking school. -
after 22 years of busting my Kidneys up and down these roads , one thing I have learned is the only difference in large companies is the name on the door
latanea Thanks this. -
If you need some time off, I wouldn't be using neurological symptoms to get it. -
Sounds like some true horror stories here. I worked for Schneider for five years and did not expieriance very much bad stuff. Good miles, home like clockwork, but every two weeks. It wasn't much of a life but I made good money and used the miles to find something better.
