According to Wal-Mart's dot registration...they are NOT a private carrier, but a for hire contract/ common carrier...

They have to be because of the method of some of our backhauls. Some we are picking up for ourselves, some the vendor hires us to haul into our DC's. That second set requires we be registered as such according to a RMM I had asked about it.

I do not understand what is so complicated for folks to get. We do not go bid on boxes into a family dollar from Domtar.

Everything we haul is in support of our stores. Our only mission is to put product in the hands of a customer so they can pay for it at the register. That is the engine that drives the stores, the dc's, and private fleet. Far too many drivers have that backwards in their head. They think they have store just so they can be a driver. That thought process is asinine! They are so full of their over inflated value that when reality slaps them around they cry foul. Any demise of private fleet can be laid at their feet. They gave management the ammo to pull the trigger, and left them no choice.

Don't get too hopeful, those losers in B'ville change their tune week to week. They still hate their drivers.

So have I. Ragu out of Owensboro to Unilever's DC in Granite City. Some kind of a deal to move the product heading for our stores to their DC to be loaded for our stores. No idea why they pay us to haul it that way. To me it would be simpler to load there to head straight to our DC.

Must be something to do with our ordering process mixed with their distribution. All I know is the product on there is supposed to be ours.

I have heard of guys picking up flyers at RR Donnely and taking them to a mail service for distribution. Still our flyers but why that is I have no idea.

I have picked up blank boxes, gone to another box plant to be reloaded with break pack boxes.

Again your guess is as good as mine why those moves make sense. Way above my pay grade.
