    It takes two to dance.

SUV tried to accelerate and pass in the middle turn lane, which did not work for it. Boom ticket.

Big truck made turn directly from travel lane without using the middle turn lane and boom ticket.

Now, that big truck was aiming for a pretty small entrance... I would have gone in there somewhat differently. There is a small slender 4 foot orange post to the left of which stands the little entrance ramp it was aiming for on the sidewalk.

It looked more like he was passing in the left lane as the truck moved into the right lane. Instead of slamming on his brakes, he continued and moved into the turn lane to avoid the truck moving back into the left.

The truck appeared to be moving to the right lane; the SUV was well within their rights to occupy the left lane since the truck was leaving the left lane for all intents and purposes. When the SUV driver saw that the truck was coming back to the left lane, the SUV tried to give them room but could not have expected the trucker to plow them over.

Judgement for the SUV driver for $100,000

Probably. They are called mirrors. The guy did have his left blinker on. Perhaps that is a turn that could not be made from the turn or even the left lane. But if you have to swing it wide, use the mirrors to make sure you don't have somebody alongside you.

I blame the truck driver on this one. He was two lanes over from the turn lane- a bit exaggerated probably. As Scotty said that is not the legal way to do it.

SUV driver probably either didn’t see the turn signal or dismissed it as another idiot who forgot to turn it off after his last turn.

    lovesthedrive Thanks this.
