No. I solicited advice on companies we might work for, not whether or not anyone thought we had good reason to leave, which makes any advice aside from company names unsolicited. But I believe we may have found our opportunity, so goal likely accomplished. Thank you to everyone who was positive and helpful. :)

I thought that at one time too, then I took a empty trailer that was maintaining 34 just fine, drove to Twin Falls, ID, and tried to set it to -10.

It would not cool to -10. It was low on refrigerant, but could maintain temp for produce. No error code until I ran a pretrip on it.

So I run a pretrip on every new reefer I get now.

    Here's the facts of trucking......
If you're a company driver you will deal with BS, all companies pretty much suck, nobody gives a rats ### if you're a man, woman, bi, tri, transgender, Or cross dress.

The harder a company sees you work the more BS loads they will give you, because you have a give work ethic and will run it. Do you think they will give it to "Joe Blow" who gives them attitude, cries and whines. No they will give him easy/favorable loads cuz they are sick of hearing him whine.

Also anymore most companies don't want to pay for real experience, and a clean mvr, and million +accident free miles. They see it as you cost too much, we can pay a rookie in most cases at least 33% less. They won't get a gubbament kickback for hiring you as opposed to a new driver.

Even those companies that were thought of as cream of the crop dream driving jobs ain't anymore, trust me I know.

Anyways best of luck to you, and 1 final point. Most company lease agreement are set up for you to fail. Company makes out like a bandit, while you struggle to make that big lease payment. I know there might be the .001% that will come in to say but, but I successfully paid it off and now I own a broke down worthless truck.

I agree with all points. We decided very quickly that we would never lease. I haven't seen a lease agreement that makes sense yet.

They don't. Find a better outfit, then find a good used truck and go make some money. Stay away from EGR/DPF/SCR units if you can. If heading to California, find a Cummins CM-871 and delete it, in frame it, and you have a one million mile + truck that you can enter CA with, no questions. A truck that does nothing but make money. ;-)

    .

Six , as usual you nailed it. Well said. Well said.
Often in life ( way more often than not too ) the absolute best advice a person gets , is actually not what they'd like to hear. But more to the point , simply what they need to hear.

    Again well said.

Well hate to break the news to you, but we are in a customer service industry, where we have to put up with BS ALL THE TIME.

I get your problems with communications and other issues with the company but as suggested, you can move to another part of the company where possibly the level of professionalism and respect is better than where you are at.

I put up with a lot of it, but I am in business to make money, which I make a lot more than you do. SO it isn't sad, I know what it takes to deal with customer issues as a driver, deal with customer issues as an owner and as an employer. I tolerate a lot of it because of the nature of this industry and those who came before me set us all up to put up with more than what we should.

Well ... don't take this wrong but I don't see gender as I don't see color, so if you have to have that explained, then ... well it is something I was taught to do. I have women in a few trucks and I expect them to do the job which they do. However work ethic also means putting up with BS with a goal in mind. YOU can't tell me otherwise, because you are not showing those work ethics by trying to fix the problems within the company but instead jumping ship for greener pastures.

    AND?
Then why the big deal? If it isn't important, then why act like this is such a big deal you get a right answer that fits your needs?

Does your husband put up with BS?

I bet he does to do his job. I've never met a plumber who told a customer that he will not do something that they are hired to do, have you?

I have zero interest in making myself miserable for any length of time by staying where I am not happy. And anyone who has a negative opinion of that can kick rocks. I don't really need anyone's approval.

My advice I stated twice, my advice to Capt. Dave is not to hire people with no experience.

By the way, you do know that a lease is not a lease purchase but a lease to a carrier?

That's my point, you put up with it by just ignoring it and you keep moving by not making it an issue.

I see her point, it is a good point but her point of view is something that happens to all of us, when they (drivers) start crabbing about it, I think to myself "put up with it because it can be so much worst" and a lot of the times it is somewhere else.

I think what it comes down to is this - being a profession is not worrying about trivial things but to keep moving, and correcting the situation.

The rest six I won't comment on in an OPEN forum.
