Old Dominion Freight Lines will probably pay the best; they're all over Virginia. Need hamzat/doubles/triples endorsements. May even need tanker endorsement since they haul plastic totes of liquid in dry van trailers.
McLane Foodservice - this is a reefer outfit delivering to fast food joints and small stores. Apply for "Driver Associate" and later you'll be promoted to "First Seat Driver" and probably make around $70K.
Abilene Motor Express - has a Northeast regional, but don't know about NYC. They're headquartered in Richmond,VA.Last edited: Dec 31, 2017

I went to Schneider out of school. They weren't my first choice but I was lucky that I it worked out the way it did. Their New Driver Training would be hard to beat, even though you hear lots of s*** talking about lack of training. They will recycle you until you either get it or you quit (for your own good). I ended up with a regional dedicated account here in Columbus which although a night job was out and back everyday. The night is the best time to get your first year miles in. Little to no traffic and space to work in. God Luck!
