Rand McNally ELD-50 - Are we the only ones having issues?

    It is January 13 now and I am also still have same problem!!! I regret buying rm eld150. Will return it as soon as I get back home and will go with somebody else. RUN AWAY!

    You will note that Rand is working on a solution.. Your events are correct and there is a script run after 3am est to correct this.

    You have posted once, try looking around the different sections, you will note there is always help available.

    Mark,

    The first thing Rand can do to generate good will is to hire another shift of tech support.

    We call customer service, try to keep our tempers in check as we are losing money or facing fines because of "software issues" only to be drop kicked into voicemail for the tech support division which is still working bankers hours a MONTH after a deadline was dropped on a 24/7 industry.

    Long story short, truckstops don't close at 5, neither do supermarkets, convenience stores, or grocers. This is the real world dot.com, we don't clock out after 8 hours.

    I understand all that. But RM is working on a solution at the highest levels. Calling in they will not have a solution, till we push out a fix.

    I have been working with three separate people at your company and none of them have told me the truth, nor will they call back when they state that they will. I do not have the available time to sit on the phone for over an hour each time to speak with someone and then get talked ”down to” because I asked questions. I have been a manger for over 25 years in banking and I never have seen such a mess that you all have created with your software. I am good with tech and I can’t get your ELD-50 with Overdryve to work correctly. Also, I really don’t think you should charge a monthly fee. Is people getting reimbursed for the months that it doesn’t work? How do you get a full refund for this system? I have to find something that works and that is cost effective and doesn’t bite into my income statement.

    And I even have a Case # listing all of the issues that I am having. Maybe you all should learn the ‘Sun Down’ rule on calling your customers back.....

    Hey Mark, I understand your frustration with fielding questions on two separate threads. I am simply trying to find a working solution to the ELD mandate, while being transparent to the other drivers, managers and fleet owners. This is the reason I chose to create this thread. I saw how you were directing the conversation away from these forums and into e-mail. How can your customers and prospective customers learn about your product, if its shielded by email?

    With that being said,,,, the ELD-50 once again re-wrote Mondays logs (1/15/2018). This accounted for 6 driving violations between 2 trucks/drivers. Yes, I was able to edit the time after the drivers logged off. But that still leaves a mess of “Driving Time” behind. I think the motor carrier inspector may believe our vehicles unloaded themselves while the truck drove through the lot??????

    I know Rand McNally is attempting to fix the issues. The knowledge that “people are working on it”, has NOT yet fixed anything.

    A version is being tested. So far it seems to have corrected the issue. A lot of times I need more information that is "private" to the user, thus the offline working with that user.

    Most of these threads start with good intentions, but end up being a bashing or comparing thread and trying to field the same questions in multiple threads takes time as a person may not read the thread the information is posted in and starts a new thread.
