The time you can lose tripping over pickup freight all day can add up fast, if you had to get it early enough.
Anyone work for xpo logistics?

Appreciate the feedback guys. Think I'll take my Hazmat endorsement come tomorrow if im not too tired after work, or at least monday.
I have a few options very rarely, but I noticed Saia, SouthEastern Freightlines, ESTEs, and XPO are all hiring. Wonder if that's a good or bad thing.
Saia is literally across the street from my current job, SE is in a neighboring city (40min drive), ESTES has a drop yard nearby, and XPO is neaby too.
So far I only know of XPO's pay scale $20.77 hourly, which is pretty much what I average now slinging alcohol and tobacco. I'm just tired of dealing with F*** Walmart...ReeferRick Thanks this. -
I haven't worked for any of them yet, but XPO is not the top pick. Not terrible, tho, and the work environment at barns varies widely, so worth visiting and talking to drivers if possible.
SAIA has driver facing cameras and is very strict about any reaching while driving, forget about using a phone or CB. Estes has a good rep and pay, out of your list it's the best, if the barn itself is okay where you are. Fedex Freight has a lot of openings right now as well, and see if ODFL is nearby, or UPS Freight.
This should be the slow season, but because of the freight crunch going on right now they may be busier than they expected. -
18 years with Conway/xpo ltl. Every barn is different. You need to find out if your getting hired for a position, of will be on the flex board. City p&d is pickups and deliveries. Everything done on handheld computers. You will work the dock. Linehaul depends on the run. Most you work the dock, some you don’t. Our tractors also have forward/inward facing cameras.

I often forget that most LTLs require drivers to work the dock..
Texas_hwy_287 Thanks this. -
Does it matter if your doing delivers, Or on the dock? If it’s hourly who cares, or is there something crappy about working in the warehouse.
There’s no bullcrap wage change based on activity or anything like that, right? Among most ltl companies? -
carl320 and Bob Dobalina Thank this.

I'm lucky to work for an LTL with no required dock work. -
Naptown, Texas_hwy_287 and Bob Dobalina Thank this.
