whether its poly or the powers that be, the system doesnt work if people have too much freedom, if they do then more rules and regulations are needed. freedom is an illusion.

Don't believe all the garbage you read on here.
This is the easiest OTR job there is.
    This is a money job.
You hear all the complaining on here, you should
See the drivers parking lot in Grand Prairie.

The lot is full of brand new full Size 50,000 pick ups,
New Camaro's, decked out hot rod dodge chargers,
Restored classic muscle cars with mag wheels
    And custom paint jobs.
I'm amazed every time I walk thru it.

How do you think there paying for it.
My 2000 Dodge Ram looks like a old relic parked
    Out there next to them.

Son of a Trucker and Zaros Thank this.

what are the trucks governed at? and hows the problems with the trucks mechanically? I can run hard. 3-4k miles a week no problem. (obviously depending on truck speed/loads)

I'll tell you like a friend of mine told me a couple
Years ago. If poly calls you answer the phone.
He worked out of Henderson like you.
    I was in the oilfield.
I wouldn't go back to the oilfield from here.
The only road job I would leave here for is UPS.
And that's only if I started at linehaul and at the top
    Of the pay scale.

I wouldn't bother with anyone else because I already
Get there money without the thier 3 inch rule book.
The international trucks your hearing everyone #####
About on here are on the way out the door.
They're pure junk, ain't no denying that.
Yet we have a bunch of drivers who refuse to take
A new peterbuilt and stay in those pieces of junk.

Then complain about breaking down all the time.
I laugh at them every time I blow thru the yard and
There out in that parking lot with all thier #### on the
Ground hopping into loaners because thier truck
Will be in the shop for 2 weeks.

Whatever truck they assign you means nothing.
Every time I hit that yard, I would get the list of available
Trucks and the loaner list and go thru them.
From front to back and top to bottom.
If there was a better one I hopped in it and took off.
Till I found one I could count on.
Took me about 20 different ones to do it.

I never touched one with a maxforce engine, I always
    Grabbed a Cummings.
I spent a lot of time sweating like a dog out in that
Parking lot going thru that junkyard of international of trucks.
But I never broke down or been towed or had to
Get a motel for some mechanical reason since I
Been here. Going on 3 years.

The miles you run are up to you. You pick and
Choose the loads and where you go.
If your in the northeast it's because you wanted to
Go up there. They didn't make you go there.
Every other load you pick up is pre-loaded off of one of
    The yards.

The shop in GP is the worst in the history of shops.
    Avoid it at all costs.
When I was in those internationals I would lie
Every time I went thru the inspection bay.
Engine light on,no AC, got to put a gallon of oil in
    Every week, whatever.
Anything wrong with the truck they'd ask,
Nope not a thing, runs perfect.

Then Grab a load to New Hampshire and go get another
    1700/1800 bucks for the week.
When I came in for time off I would right everything up,
Hop in my car and go home.
That's how I got by the shop nightmare.
    Not everybody's gonna do that I know,but I was
Warned about the shop before I came here.
    So I was prepared.

What could be easier....get half way to your delivery, truck dies...call for a tow, ride to the dealer, write it up, then ride to a motel and watch tv...easy peasy...

How many drivers are there now compared to how many fancy cars/trucks. That's the same ratio of reliable trucks to broke down junk trucks.

Sounds convincing. I like that you can pick your loads. Sounds very sweet. What are the trucks governed at?

Old super snacker. Still #####ing and complaining.
That's the story of your life.
I know who you are, I was warned about you when I
    First got here.
How many jobs you had since you left poly.
I guess the grass wasn't greener.
Yet your still here hanging around every poly
Thread that's on here. Let it go,move on.
Your not happy no matter where you work.

If you can't make money here your either,
    A. A idiot, or
    b. Scared to drive in half of the country, and limit
Yourself to what you can make.
It's all up to the driver.

In either case that's a you problem, not mine.
I grab something and go,I don't sit around the yard
For 2 days waiting for the load to Florida because I'm
Scared to go to Chicago or the northeast.
Or I'm scared of the snow, or the traffic.

Your problem is you want to fight the system no
Matter where you work. Instead of working the
    System to your advantage.

No matter how screwed up the shop is,
They're not gonna change for you/me anybody.
So you do whatever it takes to work around them.
Or I could work myself into a frenzy like you and
End up at some garbage job, like big G express, making 1500 dollars A month less.
    And still not be happy.

    Zaros Thanks this.
