HYDROCHLORIC ACID is a strong acid.

PH chart from Base to acid with tapwater in the middle. HCL is about 1.1 to 2 roughly depending on specific solution. If you poured into a beaker at the lab and spilled it onto you you will suffer significant chemical burns and especially if you breathe it in or get it into your eyes, you have now a genuine medical chemical hazmat emergency.

For that amount in the crash to fill a valley and do damage as it was reported to do, it's pretty serious. It will take a awful lot of soapy water to neutralize it.

PH Scale - ph scale - pH Scale Diagram - PH Value - PH Value Chart - PH Acidity - What is Ph Level - pH Level Diagram pH scale measures how acidic object is. Objects that are not acidic called basic (values ranging from zero (most acidic) to 14 (most basic) Source: EPA http://ygraph.com/chart/2180

Regarding the railroad, I wonder if that is part of the Connelsville Main that comes out of Pittsburgh area south and east towards western Maryland? I think Highfield would be the interchange point.

If it wasn’t mechanical or medical then this driver is a moron. Great sight of distance. Not to mention train horns are pretty flipping loud.

I had a guy begin to overflow a trailer during a transfer on a frac sight. I grabbed the vac truck hose and ran up the ladder forgetting the respirator. Awful mistake. Luckily I was able to climb back down gagging the whole way.

There is a bit of a hill and angle... I wonder if he got high centered somehow? My guess is it has to be mechanical. Did he jump out before collision? I wonder if he was coming in or leaving?

Dang... just went to the link and watched the updated new coverage. Witnesses say he just straight up pulled out right in front of the train. Must have had his CB up too loud! How do you miss a freaking train?!?! Shame on me for trying to give the benefit of the doubt, but I hope he's OK...
