I'l keep this short and sweet, but while driving down I-5 in California, a rock came off a vehicle and grazed the bottom side of my driver mirror. Now the mirror is plastic and like I said it grazed the mount. When I say grazed, it essentially svratched the mirror. Should I report it to my company, or just Sharpie the mount to make it unnoticeable? I dont want to have to worry about doing paperwork and all that jazz, for something so minor.

Just tell them, call your safety department and have them note it.

I would not say a word about something that minor. Some outfits can make a mountain out of an anthill.

    Sharpie.

Too much paperwork generated from a phone call.

    Woodys and austinmike Thank this.

As a previous owner of a few trucks with drivers, I always appreciated a guy that was flat straight up. The straight up thing to do is to call it in and have it noted, no matter how small. I always looked at those drivers as keepers, and when there was a few extra bucks, they got it for doing what used to be the right thing. But, that is just me, and I have no clue who this guy works for.

How noticeable is it? Is it a small company or a mega outfit?

A scratch caused by a road hazard? No need for a report to your company.

Woodys, austinmike and Studebaker Hawk Thank this.
