    The reward of self employment.

If anything goes sideways, I look in the mirror and curse my inept leadership.

We humans, we had this hole stuck on the front of our faces but there is no connection to the brain.

This is a job of last resort. Many drivers entering this industry are destitute, rap sheets a mile long, dodging child support, escaping reality, etc. It's not the middle class blue collar job of days gone by.

You want detention, these guys are happy as clams to have a heated fiberglass box to sleep in. You want pay raises, they want to hobo around the country in the big truck

The industry isn't stupid, they know this and use it to their advantage. Starve out those pesky malcontents who want hometime and detention, and lease a truck to the homeless with a fuelcard.

Haha. No kidding. Every once in a blue moon i get this idea that maybe i should just get a job at ups (or any of the other good paying company gigs) so i come on to ttr and look at some of the threads for those companies and realize just how #### good i got it.

Jesus H Chris...as a new driver, that's one of the most depressing posts I've seen in a long, long time.

You just might be a malcontent. I thought long and hard on this right turn I'm about to make. I have faith that employers still value good employees. We'll see.

That’s beautifully written, really it is. Too bad it’s not accurate. Literally, none of it. I’ll explain why it’s a crock of crap if I have to, but those of us in the industry already know. So, if you think I’m wrong, ask, and I’ll respond. Otherwise…
