It will happen. Mark my words. I’m the same way, and it’s happened to me. It happens to everyone.

This is where it becomes real. Nobody is going to tell you in advance what that other stupid driver or four wheeler is going to do.

You won't do any better or worse by knowing you have one more silly test. You only do better or worse based on what you know and how you apply it...

    That's real son.

Comparison... I was notified yesterday that I was selected to be one of the contestants representing CFI at the Missouri truck driving championship on memorial day.

I don't know anything about it, looking forward, I want to win, don't want to look like a fool, and I don't know what kind of truck, transmission, obstacle course or appetizers will be served at the awards ceremony. The point is, I won't lose sleep, or worry cuz it doesn't change anything by knowing.

I just have to apply what I know just like we do every day.

When you can do that, you are ready for whatever comes... I would love for you to start sharing what you learn every day...then we know you are on the right track.

You will do your Smith system drive tomorrow. Tell us what you learned, rather than how you nailed it.

I asked a few of my buddies who have been driving for a few years and they swear by the Garmin Dezl. They say it's awesome. I looked up some videos and reviews and it seems legit. And it has a dash cam. Has programmable features that you can fit to your specific truck. I think it'll be the one that I pick up.
As someone said before I hear the peoplenet GPS works fine. But never hurts to have back up.

Yeah I’ve been eyeballing that. Idk how I feel about dropping 400$ on a gps/dash cam though.

For me personally I'm going to buy a dash cam and a GPS system anyway. Might as well combine the two. And the Dezl is designed specifically for trucks and it's by Garmin. So I definitely think it'll suit my needs.

I’ve seen it refurbished on amazon for 330$ so maybe at that price point. But supposedly Rand McNally closely rivals Garmin and they have an 8 inch tablet truck gps with all the special route planning truck height bells and whistles and built in dashcam along with the plus of being a android tablet for pleasure as well. And it’s only 200$

Edit* these Rand McNally’s were also refurbished products. They’re a little pricier than the Garmins.
