    i just not sure about asking my doctor to do this, dont even know if they would, isnt there a liability issue with the doctor then ?

    No. If the doctor feels its a liability issue then they will say so. They are told by the DOT to provide this letter, if the doctors can, in good conscious, attest to you being fit to drive while on your meds.

    No just talk to him and ask him directly will it affect my driving because I want to be a truck driver. If he says yeah it will then your gonna have to stop ic you wanna drive.. If he says no just ask him to write a note for the DOT EXAMINER.whatever your doctor says though it's 100% confidential. So it won't affect you with the dot .. but keep in mind you may have to stop no big deal.. but I doubt it he will most likely sign off on it since it's really not a strong drug.

    i know several people on xanax and valium and have been for years, and they both in my opinion are more powerful than ativan

    But yeah it ultimately comes down to what your doctor says but regardless you have the option of stopping your gonna have to talk to him. Again it's 100% confidential at this point
