Is it possible to put the manual fan switch into the volvo d13,automatic transmission? Been told by a Volvo technician that is not possible, some thing to do with computer programing, I'm no mechanical savvy by any means but I doubt his answer. Any input?

You can also do it without any programming. On my vnl, I have a mack fan switch solenoid powered by one of the 3 aux switches (pigtails are under the steering shaft)
Basically, put the mack fan switch solenoid in line before the Volvo fan one (also under steering shaft area) Now you have a solenoid to override the solenoid!Benek Thanks this. -
It can be done, talk to another dealer.

its very simple to do if you have air operated clutch just grab ground from solenoid and run in thru a switch in the dash about 10ft of wiring and 1 hr job, dont always need all the fancy programing and all. all the vecu is doing is cutting out the power to solenoid in order to turn the fan on, you can do the same by taking the ground side and running it thru a switch that way you will break the circuit when you need fan on essentially doing the same thing.
