Trucking is definitely not what used to be 10 yrs ago.... (I have been trucking for 10 straight years now) and it keeps changing more and more very quickly... Some say that the more it changes, the more it stays the same... I am not sure what that means.... But I don't like the new technology changes at all.. and feeling pressed to make changes... just don't know what.... and that is not a good feeling....:biggrin_25513:

I agree and that unease is one reason I am looking at stepping away from the profession. I am a non-conformist in my core. Adding more rules and regulations is not good for me,

I'm making "good" money in my company... the equipment is very well maintained, the people (dispatchers, mechanics, upper management, etc) are great, very professional, honest, respectful, efficient, etc, etc.... But the technology in their new trucks coming soon is what I don't want... It seems this is the path this industry is taking as more and more companies are using automatic trucks for fuel economy and putting more technology in them... And yeah... the HOS regulations is another thing that I totally hate....
I have been reading about buying a truck (tractor only) and leasing it to a company... But not sure this would be a good idea for a number of reasons...
I don't know what else I would like to do... Definitely not the kind of person that will work just for the money... I must enjoy and take pleasure in what I do.... no money pays to be miserable...

Was hearing on the Road Dog radio today someone saying that if you are at a shipper/ receiver you must log on duty if you are waiting for a dock or just standing-by till they finish and tell you to move the truck.... And if you are purchasing something for the truck, you also must show on duty time for that.... Yeah... right... :biggrin_1square1:

    Yes.
I delivered to the other lot.
Go past Toyota dealer, bear right, make left under bridge, and it's on left.
