Driving down the highway, mindin' my own business, ELD clock winding down, and this alert comes up. So I did.

My dispatcher praised me the other day, saying I am the "best" driver he ever had, that I do an "incredible" job blah, blah, blah... and has been pushing me to the limits... I have been running almost like Mr. @ironeagle2006 says he used to back in his days of trucking.... but I'm doing it all "legal"... according to the ELD I mean...

And BTW, I like to run hard...

But Lord have mercy.... Last week I have been in rush hr traffic jams in Indianapolis, Philadelphia, Chicago, Minneapolis... :biggrin_25521: and always running against that freakin clock... with no minutes to spare.... :biggrin_2552: Going thru rush hr traffic jam from I-80 to I-294 to I-290 to I-90 in IL not knowing if I will have enough time to park before my time expires.... That's a A LOT of stress.... not good for my cholesterol... :biggrin_25513:

Ended up parking on a quiet street west of Chicago for my 10 hr break, across from the police station.... :yes2557: Very nice place that a very good friend told me about.... :thumbleft: cause there's NO other good place to park nearby... and I had 5 mins left on my 11 and 14...

Delivered somewhere in MN Friday, in farm country...

...then rushed to another shipper cause they were about to close.... but I begged them to wait... and they did... Got there almost 15 mins after hrs on Friday and they loaded me as quickly as they could...
Then, I used PC to get to truck stop for scale (it was not in the direction of the load) and was very fortunate to find a very good free parking spot.... :biggrin_25519: That was northwest of Minneapolis.

Now parked at a small Pilot in IN about 5 mins from receiver. Got here yesterday early afternoon and collapsed... woke up at 1 am and had my breakfast, then lunch.... etc, etc...

Taking my 34... cause dispatcher told me I will be running hard this coming week...
After delivery tomorrow, will pick up somewhere else in IN and head to TN...

And home? I don't need a home... the truck is my home... I am a "prisoner" of the road... :biggrin_2559:

Did you like their food? It looks like it's good truckers' food... talking from the reviews and pictures...

Yes, it was good. Not the greatest in the world but better than most places where there's truck parking.

Ok... the only truck stops where I can sit and have their food is at Indian places... I like the Indian cuisine (from India)...:yes2557:

Only thing I learned. If your to park some place, have your clock end around 3:30 in the afternoon.
You will get a prime place to park before the idjuts get there. Then you can get back out in the morning and every thing is fine.

    BigBob410 and Rocks Thank this.
