They tried to do that to me to on my other truck when the batteries went bad they told me on the phone well it's night time so I can only approve One battery unless they're all bad.
If you replace one good battery and still have three other bad batteries you're eventually going to have four bad batteries again just a lot quicker...

The only time I could see them actually having a dog in the fight about approving repairs would be if you're negative. Because then you're kind of spending their money and they don't know if you're going to quit in a week.
It just seems like it's constantly Towing that line between employee and independent contractor...Jarhed1964 Thanks this. -
Breakdown is the prime reason I purchased my own truck. No one between me and my money to fix my truck.
The last conversation I had with breakdown was because I developed a bubble on my steer tire. I wanted both changed as the other one way at 6/32.
I was told JCT refused the second tire because it was still "dot legal". I called breakdown and told them it's my money and I want 2 new tires. They said they were not authorizing 2 tires and even though it is my $ its their truck as I'm just renting it.
Well now I own the truck and no one tells me no.Kamkor and scottied67 Thank this. -
Yeah if I had money in my maintenance account to cover the tires and they told me no like that my next call would be the dispatch telling them they need to put me on the swap board cuz this load isn't moving.
I'd love the higher ups to see the reason for the swap or failed otd on a Tyson load being breakdown wouldn't approve use of own money.Jarhed1964 and Nilao Thank this. -
That is the one thing that has always bothered me about JCT. The use of your own money for legitimate breakdown or repairs that YOU, the DRIVER, and PURCHASER of the tractor deems necessary. It's not like you are using the cash to go gamble, even though that is your choice too, but as I see it, the only way they should have a say on whether or not you want a repair done, is if you are in the hole in your maintenance account. Yes, it's their truck. I get it. But it's not like you are calling to use your maintenance account money to otherwise modify the truck outside of their specs.

They apparently turned around and came South on 15 and that was them passing me as I was driving South and then they took the 10 freeway going east bound and then they started going the wrong way up Etiwanda. And started running through residential's.
