I wonder if they will keep the Miller terminal in Channelview, the Heniff terminal on Chemical Rd. or both?
Heard a rumor Heniff is buying Miller and MILs

It will be interesting. Miller had multiple trucks, all the time, at my customer in Shreveport. I sent a text about it to my old boss who still pulls out of there. He hadnt heard anything official yet. I think we are going to see alot more of these in the future.

An O/O I met last week just left Miller, said Heniff purchase will be final in June according to his old terminal manager. He said rates after the merger will be worse than Miller's so no regrets on his part about leaving them.
Edit: This is just FWIW, I don't know anything about tanking yet, but the guy who told me that has been pulling tanks for 10 years and driving a lot longer than that.Last edited: May 24, 2018

Any idea if Heniff will have to honor the Miller union contract for their company drivers or will they abolish the union drivers?
The reason I ask is the Miller union drivers recently approved the new union contract for 4 more years. I'm not interested in a union debate, because I don't have a horse in that fight. I'm only interested in how things usually go when a non-union company buys/merges with a company that has union employees. -

A quick read of those articles suggests that Heniff may not have to honor the contract if 1) the additional Miller employees don't make up a majority of the total workforce and/or 2) there's no 'substantial continuity.' I am not a lawyer, but the article seems to suggest that just changing the name of the company might be enough for the new owners to say there was a change to the business, even if they're still hauling bulk loads with trucks driven by truck drivers.
It will be interesting to see how it shakes out.88 Alpha Thanks this. -
As far as the union i have no idea.
But in the nearly 4 years ive been here,Heniff has bought out 4 companies and one of those was a local Chicago outfit. Those drivers all got to keep their hourly pay which was higher than we were making at the time, the other 3 companies that were bought out by Heniff all those drivers got raises.
I guess the say questions can be asked about all the lease purchase Miller guys with those 2018 389s
New contract or the existing stays
