    I am scheduled for FL next week. Will be driving in on Monday with an empty trailer. Apparently there is a tropical storm blowing in tomorrow through Monday and they declared a state of emergency.

    So I called the dispatcher and seems like he blew me off... like he was in a hurry to get off the phone. I told my codriver for next week and he sounds confused.

    Weather reports are stating high wind, rain, isolated tornadoes, and flooding.

    I’m asking y’all if I’m a snowflake and if you would drive down there because I was surprised to see I am the only one so far that sees a problem.

    Can trucks even drive into emergency zones?

    Last news I looked at, the storm is headed up the middle of the Gulf of Mexico and straight for New Orleans. That's what the storm map shows.
    If you're headed down the center of Florida I-75 or Eastern /I-95, it should be ok.

    We will be driving from Dallas, so we will pass through there.

    Do you have weather apps. to check? Looks as if you have time to get through Louisiana and on into Florida before it gets too bad.
    If you wait too long though, Louisiana will get nasty by late Sunday or early Monday.

    I don’t have a weather app yet. Which one would you recommend?

    I don't have one either, so can't recommend one.
    Maybe one of the tech savvy drivers will contribute to this subject.
    @STexan probably can help.

    This is really not gonna be a big deal. It's a sub-tropical storm...Locally 5 inches of rain, we get rain like that from afternoon thunderstorms. I haven't heard about any evacuations or states of emergency. Maybe some minor flooding.

    The best way to avoid weather is to stay home.

    I stand corrected, they are making emergency preparations here in FL, mostly for coastal flooding. I still don't think it is going to be anything but a rain maker.

    Run 20 from Dallas to CubaAL. Then run US 80 to Monkey, then catch us231 to US82 to I75.
