Or maybe this is what I see when I'm out and about at home because every dam driver I see looks like they just rolled off the couch at half time.
Kinda like what ever car you own you see everywhere , so when I go to the store all I see are the slobs. -
We don't have uniforms or dress code where I work, but I feel like when I'm at work, I represent my company and I take pride in that. I wear clean blue jeans or Dickies work shorts and clean white t-shirt and always wear work boots.KB3MMX, Auctioneer, Txdriver77 and 3 others Thank this. -

(kkkkkkkkkk, I'm sorry, I hadda do this. No offense, and I'm glad you take pride in your appearance honestly. Just my sick sense of humor here...)Lab work Thanks this. -
I think a lot of this is the ever-increasing numbers of team trucks. Yes, I get it, there's always the ability for either/both at some point to stop long enough to shower, but the nature of team running makes idle time like that hard to come by or they've been "programmed" to not stop by their dispatcher/employer/sponsor/slave-boss person back at the office in California or Illinois or New Jersey.
I realize it's not the ultimate excuse but many will use team driving as their excuse if they're ever pressed on the matter. The more team trucks there becomes, the more you're going to see this. Teaming is a recipe for disaster on many levels, especially once it reaches the point where neither gives a dam about anything anymore which is a foregone conclusion, typically. -
its just a refelection of a declining industry, not sure what kind of people would be attracted to long hours, low pay and being treated like animals for the most part, now i say that an everyone wants to defend the industry or tell me if i dont like it why dont i leave, im not complaining just stating that drivers are a reflection of the industry so it doesnt surprise me, maybe it just bothers drivers because it says alot about what their profession has become
-
it may not be so much that drivers are declining but that people are becoming more informed these days, so its making it harder for companies to find decent drivers, everyone always says its about working smarter not harder, well being a driver certainly isnt working smarter so maybe the smart ones figured that out, leaving the uninformed slob to fill the seat.
KB3MMX, W900AOwner, tuckerthetrucker and 2 others Thank this.
