To see our rates the way they are and others just now going up makes me appreciate who I work for and for what I work for

 

Ya dude but why compare yourself to those bottom feeders. At the good companies the rates went up right with ours. It does no good to think we are the only carrier worth good rates. I know guys at others that are killing my best weeks.

 

No you missed what I'm saying.. Even though there are guys killing us, I know people who are just now feeling the increase in rates so like I said I appreciate the fact our rates been up. Far as other people doing better than us, we know Merver isn't the best paying flatbed outfit out here

 

I wish they poked a hole in my radiator I could of used a new one lol

 

Worked on it for about 11 hours today . Fixed the city horn, passenger side washer, polished the wheels, and gave it a much needed bath. Tomorrow I'm using a cutting polish on the paint to bring it back and I'm gonna do the tanks. Do you think the tanks are gonna shine up? And can I use maquires cutting compound on them if the aluminium polish doesn't bring them back?

 

My tanks were worse than that and after a couple days sanding, cutting, and polishing you can use them as a mirror to shave in the morning. Its a lot of work and most guys would rather pay someone to do it, but i like doing things myself. working with my hands and getting dirty is like therapy for me.

 

Awesome thanks for that. I just take pride in anything I do. I feel like the way you keep your equipment represents you as a person in a way. Not saying a great person can't drive a beater truck, but someone who takes pride in thier equipment normally means they take pride in what they do.

 

Clean them up real good with a good car wash soap then run yout finger tips along them to feel for pitting. If they arent putted you can skip the sanding stages. If they are putted, start with 220 grit, go to 360, and finally 600 grit. Then you start cutting with the wheels and rouge. Expect to spend an entire day on 1 tank.

Seriously if you want it to look good your choices are either spend the money on the right tools for the job, or take it to a polish ship and downs 10 times the amount of money.

The polish shop in wildwood quoted me something crazy like 3k plus leave the truck with them for a full week. 300 bucks for the zephyr kit was a bargain in comparison.

 

I'm not against hard work or putting in time to make it right. I ordered the kit you were talking about.
