I did have it installed until last week when it updated and then required a new code, which I didn't get hoping the website would work...

 

You've been around here long enough, you should've known better. Mercer is pretty good except where technology is concerned. They are way behind the times in that department.

 

So I have to download and use another app in order to use the website for paperwork?

 

No..they just recommended that one...cam scanner is free and does the same great job

 

Ain't that something? Our tech department is so great their technology depends on the use of 3rd party ad laden apps.

That's the very definition of incompetence. There is absolutely no reason the imaging isn't capable of being designed to work with a relatively modern smart phone or tablet without the use of some other 3rd party software.

 

Or just find another company to build an in-house app like they had. Just because that company is not doing it anymore they aren't the only company doing it. SMH...

I was able to use the website to upload my BOL's. I didn't use another app, and I didn't crop the pics. I just took pics and used the upload button on the website.... Got paid 45 minutes later. At least, that part works

 

No you dont HAVE to, you can simply take a pic and send.

As I explained in an earlier posts all phone cameras aren't equal, my phone for example, when I take a pic of a bol , it averages 4.5 mb , that takes a bit to transfer if my phone signal isnt 4g and full bars.

The scan apps take the photo image and makes it a black and white image and it will be 400 kb or so, much much smaller file and easier to send , than the original image.

It's not a necessity , simply makes it easier ,

 

That will work also, one of the scan apps will help if you have a problem image, like with of the weird color bol
